From a former supporter of the HSUS and Peta
We need more people to speak up like Stephanie. She was brave enough to do the research herself. She sent us a huge email with lots of facts and figures about the HSUS and others. We, here at Pet Breeders and Owners, encourage you to do the same. You don't have to look far to find many others that have done the research and know the true agenda of this huge political machine and money factory. Animal Rights (AR) people are not in it for the animals - it is all about the money!
I used to be a contributor to PETA & HSUS. That was back when I believed that they were interested in helping animals.
All this negative info came to light when I was responding to an accusation made against them. I was looking for proof to the contrary, something that would prove their dedication to animals. I was shocked to discover the hypocrisy in both organizations.
Ingrid Newkirk, founder of PETA, has said, "Even if it resulted in a cure for AIDS, we'd be against it (animal research)." Vogue, Sep 1989 (And yet her second in command, Mary Beth Sweetland, is an insulin-taking diabetic, who has clearly seen the benefit from animal research. Ms. Sweetland justifies this by saying, "The animals need me." Clearly, the implication is that the rest of us are not so necessary, so we should not benefit from that same research.
It is true that both PETA and HSUS are political lobbying organizations, but if anyone believes that they are interested in animal welfare, I beg to differ. If you do any research (just Google "Ingrid Newkirk said" or "Wayne Pacelle said," for example), you will find that their goal is to end all animal/human contact. ALL. It's way past clubbing baby seals. They want to end all hunting, animal agriculture, use of animals in circuses, movies & tv, assistance animals, and animals as pets, to name a few.
